Listening Room International Songwriters Retreat 2012

Annika is organizing and leads, since 2003, together with Brett Perkins and Eva Hillered, an international singer/songwriter retreat on Holmhällar, south Gotland.

Gotland, Holmhällar 6 - May 13th 2012

Now it's time for a new Songwriters Retreat Gotland! The past years have been a success, with satisfied participants and many new collaborations, tours and recordings. This year's week-long retreat will bring together about 20 professional songwriters from Europe and the USA and stay focused on the inspiration, co-writing and development of your musical artistry.

Participants from previous events through the contacts they made in co-writing-retreat, recorded albums and toured the U.S. and other countries, and many of the co-written songs that was created has ended up on the released records.
The cost for participants is 8500 SEK. The price includes a shared room with shower, plus a small, simple kitchen, breakfast buffet, a simple lunch and a three-course dinner every day of boarding Holmhällar on southern Gotland. (Accommodation in single rooms is also possible for an additional charge, and the ability to choose a cheaper accommodation, with shared rooms 2-4 people and a shared shower). We have a discount of $ 500 for you as a member of the musicians union and sign up before 10 February 2011.

The workshop includes the following activities:
Songcircles:
Each day, participants gathered in a circle and playing songs for each other, previously written or co-writes during the course.
Assigned co-writes:
With the help of the participants' preferences parts Brett Perkins into songwriters in låtskrivarpar, most of the day is devoted to writing together. The material is played in songcircles.
Body and Voice warmup:
Eva Hillered leads every day a voice warming, which includes breathing and relaxation.
Morning Circle:
Annika Fehling leads a daily welcome circle.
One to one Consultations:
Brett Perkins will this week also offer participants private consultations in career and songwriting.
Listening Room Concerts:
An official concert will take place at the end of the week.
Mix of lectures and writing exercises:
Eva Hillered, lecturing around any substances in his newly published book "Quick Reference for Writers"

We offer every year at least one professional artist who participates in the co-writer and all activities. As a participant in the workshop, you also get the opportunity to buy Sweden's first book on songwriting - "Quick Reference for Writers - everything a singer-songwriter needs to know" (by Eva Hillered, Norstedts), for a reduced price.
